Your files never leave your browser.

1. The short version

• No document uploads. Markdown parsing, styling, preview, and PDF export happen locally on your device.
• No document storage. We don't save, log, or cache the text or files you convert.
• No account needed. There is nothing to sign up for, so we hold no profile on you.
• No sale of personal data. We don't sell personal information. Ever.

2. What happens when you convert a file

When you paste text, upload a .md, .markdown, .mdown, or .txt file, or change a style setting, everything is processed by JavaScript running in your own browser tab. Closing the tab removes the content from memory. If you reload the page, your draft is gone unless your browser itself restores the tab.

3. Data we may process automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider may process minimal technical data to deliver pages securely, such as:

• IP address, browser type, and requested pages (standard server access logs);
• Aggregated, anonymized usage counts (e.g., how many visits a page received).

We do not use this data to identify you, we do not combine it with document contents (which we never receive), and we do not use cross-site tracking cookies for advertising.

4. Cookies and local storage

• Theme preference: if you toggle dark/light mode, we store a mdtopdf-theme value in your browser's local storage so the choice persists. You can clear it anytime in browser settings.
• No advertising or analytics cookies are set by us to follow you across sites.

5. Third-party resources

Pages load fonts from Google Fonts and may be served over a CDN. Those providers receive standard technical information (such as your IP address) needed to serve the file, governed by their own privacy policies. Your document text is never sent to them — it stays in your tab.

6. Contact form and email

If you contact us via the contact page or by email, we receive the address and message you choose to send so we can reply. We use that information only to respond, and we don't add you to a mailing list or share it with third parties for marketing.

7. Children

This service is a general-purpose utility not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the revised version on this page. Material changes will be described here.
